Thank you!

The first thing I want to do is thank everyone for all the wonderful comments and emails. It has been so incredible to have such support from our friends and family. I haven’t been able to respond to all the comments, but please know that we really appreciate them. I look forward to checking my email and the blog each night. :0) It sure is helping make the time waiting for Jaden to pass quickly.

Adoption update: We received a follow up email today from the social worker at agency #2. She said she’s still trying to straighten out the mess with our address being wrong in the government records, but they are not getting back to her either. Go figure (sarcasm intended)! We think we managed a work-around… hubby went to the post office today and requested they stop forwarding our mail. Since we still own the old house, we’ll just pick up mail in both places now. Hopefully the PO manages to get that right (this PO is usually pretty good, so I’m guessing they will).

In other news: Today I went to see two of my friends for lunch – at the house of the friend who has a newborn boy. He is absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t get over how teeny-teeny-TEENY-tiny he was. Small though he was, he had strong little legs and it seemed like he wanted to start walking already – he kept trying to kick up, it was hysterical to see. How great to be able to share this time with my friend… not to mention getting in a little practice myself. :o ) Other than cooing over the baby, we had awesome salads for lunch and had some much needed catch-up time – it had been quite a while since we were able to hang out together as ‘just the girls,’ and I’m guessing it might be another long while, depending on when we get to travel to Korea.

This weekend we are headed off to New York City to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. This was a request of hubby’s mom for her birthday, so we planned it back around May. We are taking both hubby’s mom and dad. We have planned an early a.m. train into the city to make it to the ferry in time. It should be interesting as I have not been to see Lady Liberty since —actually, I have no idea when the last time was. I’d have to guess grade school, but I’m sure Mom knows better. :o ) I’m not especially fond of the city, so for their sakes I’m hoping I don’t get to cranky (me, cranky?! Never! LOL). :-D

I think we went to the Statue of Liberty when you were in 5th grade and as a good mother, I will not say what year that was!!!
